Two days back, 30th Aug 2010. Two cotonou banks and bureau de change of the cotonou said was also robbed for close to two hours in the morning. About 3-4 lifes were lost and millions of cfa was stolen that it affected the exchange rate. You could imagine how much cfa was stolen that would affect the increase of cfa from 294 naira - 305naira. The robbery was lead by a woman; trust the saying that what a man can do, a woman can do better smiley the two banks robbered are Bank Of Africa & Diamond Bank, cotonou. A soul was lost in Bank Of Africa. May God continue to cover us with his protection (Amen)

Was crossing through to cotonou then. Everywhere was still while the operation last. This is confirmed news and not rumours

and in america a group of arm robbers robbed a bank which lasted for 44minutes.They even had to put it on record.

My fellow nairalanders. The criminals has been arrested and are at the seme police station. This thread is just to keep us updates about our area of car purchase, the bad incidence that happened.

The police confirmed the arrest of the other gang,but the lady is yet to be arrested as confirmed by the police at the seme boarder. They're still at the seme police station but might be transferred to kirikiri today. Who knowns.

Remember I said the robbery affected CFA rising from 294naira to 305naira. That's to know how much the CFA stolen are worth. You can pocket about 6-7m cfa in your pocket without you knowing anything and that's about 1.830m - 2.135m naira. So holding 10m cfa. You holding abt. 3m plus. Now imagine how many cfa would go in a "Ghana Must Go" Bag. How many they would bring. Cfa is quite expensive at the moment but guess it should go down back soon.

The Thieves were apprehended by the Local vigilante Group at a village called Kese very close to the Owode-Apa border. In all 6 people were arrested and captured. $ of whom directly participated in the robbery while a lady was also apprehended while driving around to locate them and help them escape, Shoes and clothes were found in her car which she intends to give to the robbers so they can change their clothes to ease their escape.
The Vigilante groups deserved commendation.

I was actually somewhere in Badagry d day of this robbery, n d news was everywhere, Everyone(d locals) was running for his/her head.

The important thing is the message that was passed accross in the topic and NOT d typo error.Besides, anybody can easily understand the message by reading the poster's( Larryshow4) note.

The story is for sure cos nobody toils with a serious issue like this and Larryshow can't for any reason say something he is not aware of. I was on my way to Cotonou that fatefull day and we had to chill out @ d customs office till the incident went off.
